Ever wonder what happens to deleted scenes? Or how nature inspires fantasy worlds?

I had so much fun chatting with Tracy Blom on her Books, Kids and Creations podcast! We covered:
• How nature sparks story ideas
• Why deleted scenes are a hidden treasure
• Practical ways to develop richer characters in both KidLit and fantasy
• Working with beta readers and writing coaches to bring stories to life

How does nature inspire you, and can you spot fantasy elements when you’re out and about? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Adventure, mystery… and Gobight martial arts?

I had the joy of chatting with L Hackney about Vanishings, the first book in The Wythic Wood Mysteries. Tilly is desperate to find Michael after he mysteriously disappears into the Wythic Woods. Along the way, there’s magic, courage, and yes—goblins teaching kids Gobight martial arts!

If you love middle-grade fantasy, magical worlds, and a story that keeps you guessing, this episode is for you.

I had a great chat with Shanon, Ben, and Jamie on the Self-Publishing Tips & Tricks Podcast (Ep. 093), where I shared my journey from self-publishing to hybrid publishing. We talk about rewriting my debut novel, trusting my instincts, and how my love of the outdoors inspired the magical forest in my latest story. It was such a fun and thoughtful conversation about resilience, publishing choices, and learning as a writer!

I wrote a blog about the benefits of spending time away from urban environments. This is up on my writers group website.

Big Blend Radio celebrated National Family Month. As part of that, I discussed my debut novel, Vanishings, the first book in the Wythic Wood Mysteries Series, a middle-grade mystery/fantasy series. I also share a little about my author journey, the power of imagination and escapism, and why stories that inspire curiosity, creativity, and outdoor exploration are more important than ever for young readers. I hope you enjoy watching!
